Marineland Advanced LED Strip Light

I bought these LED lights on Amazon to replace the fluorescent lights I had on my 48″ tank.  The product packaging was secure and the product arrived damage free.   Along with the lights and power adapter  was an easy to understand instruction booklet. Setup was extremely simple,  unbox, plug in, and follow instructions for setting the integrated clock and day/night/off timers.  The legs extend outward to fit a range of tank tizes, The 48″ size I got extends to fit up to 60″.

The first thing I noticed was how bright and and clear the LEDs were when compared to the old fluorescent lights. Twice as bright but with no harsh glare, they brought out the natural colours of the fish and plants. The light is aimed downwards so it effectively lights the tank without lighting the room.   The sleek low profile design looks great too. The blue lunar setting simulates moonlight, lighting the tank without disturbing your nocturnal fish.

The only drawback to this lighting system relates to the clock/timer. In the event of a power outage the clock resets to midnight and day/night timer settings revert to the factory default, which oddly enough has the lights coming on at 3pm. Every time there’s an interruption to the power you must reset your clock and timers.

All in all I am happy with the Marineland Advanced LED Strip Light.
